Biking adventurers roar into literature festival

by

Motorbike adventurers feature heavily on this year’s line-up for Cheltenham Literature Festival (6th-15th October) and tickets are now on sale.

They range from popular TV biking star Charley Boorman and Lois Pryce, who motorbiked solo around Iran at the height of tensions between the British and Iranian governments, to Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent, whose latest adventure took her motorbiking through Arunachal Pradesh, a mountainous state clinging to the far north-eastern corner of India. Her book about this journey has been described as ‘A fabulously thrilling journey through a beguiling land’ by Joanna Lumley, ‘A transformative journey that gripped me from the very first page’ by Alastair Humphreys and a ‘vivid and thoughtful tale’ by Ted Simon. Her previous adventures include a solo motorcycling adventure down the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Alongside leading travel and adventure personalities, the Festival Village will host more than 550 events over ten days, including live performances, foodie delights, family activities and the biggest names in books, stage and screen – meaning there really is something for everyone at the UK’s oldest and most prestigious literature festival.
