Ann Wright’s new book The Wall of Death tells the story of two remarkable families who were wall of death riders and owners from 1929 to the 1960s.
They toured all over Britain and Europe, and were seen by British and foreign royalty, Hitler and Mussolini, and thousands of the general public, and their shows included towing a roller-skater and riding with lions in a sidecar.
The book not only profiles the sensational fairgound show of the same name, but also the people who risked life and limb to entertain crowds across the UK and the globe.
