1980 Honda CB750KZ – El Diablo | Brag Your Bike

by

Hi my name’s Aaron, been riding motorcycles for 16 years. I’m an engineer for the railway by trade, love to build and create things with my own hands, this is my 2nd bike I have built in my own garage.

It started as a good condition 1980 Honda CB750K, previously rebuilt motor, only 6000 miles from new, 900cc cams, DNA pod filters, Keyster card kit fitted, straight through Delkevic exhaust, all new wiring system using the MotoGadget mo ride Bluetooth digital controller unit. All switches changes to multifunction buttons, full LED lights including indicators and land rover Defender LED front headlight, ignition is keyless with proximity sensor. The top yoke shaved and re-welded to give the cleanest look. Full digital dash with the original speedo cable fitted. Custom-made battery tray to house the new wiring harness / system and the new Anti-gravity Lithium battery.

The rear of the bike was cut off and all old tabs shaved off, I welded the hoop to the rear with extra sub frame support brace, seat pan custom made from sheet metal and rear cowl handmade and welded by myself to fit the new rear end perfectly and to follow the angle of the frame correctly and housing a built in LED micro tail light.

The seat was upholstered by Trimtech in Mulberry vinyl with cross stitch.

The tank, seat pan and rear cowl are all painted by a friend of mine in a Lamborghini exclusive colour to the Aventador called Nero Aldebaran,  and ghosted Honda logos in Nissan gtr gun metal grey, the name El Diablo came from the fact Lamborghini made the Diablo so I thought it was quite fitting.

The chain was the last gold 630 x ring I could find online which was imported from New York, linked up to a Yamaha R6 clutch.

To finish off I went for some period correct tyres, although not up to today’s technology they really do set the bike off.

All in all it took around 2 years to complete working the odd hour or 2 in the evenings a couple of times a week.

I hope you like the Cafe Racer style and a little different twist with color etc
