Pistons on the pier

by

Motorcyclists are being invited to bring their machines to Clevedon Pier, in Clevedon in Somerset (BS21 7QU) on Saturday 13 December to help raise vitally needed funds for the upkeep of the 1,024-foot-long Victorian landmark. Their last Pistons On The Pier event back in October, organised by the town’s monthly Clevedon Cars & Coffee rally, attracted some 100 bikes and scooters, raising £5,500 from crowds of visitors.

Those bringing their motorcycles or scooters will have free pier admission, plus an annual pass, and will be asked to glide their machines onto the decking to be shown by marshals where to park, with protective kickstand wood slats provided. Owners are encouraged to bring an information sheet about their machine, and any club history, (and if their motorcycle drips, a drip tray – or it should be parked on the tarmac at the entrance). Gates open at 8.30am with the last machine allowed on at 9.45am, and public entry begins at 10am with the show finishing at 1pm.
